10 myths about bigger bodies. As a society, we often hold onto certain myths and stereotypes about people in bigger bodies. These myths can be harmful and perpetuate negative attitudes and behaviors towards people who don’t fit the societal ideal of a so-called “perfect” body size.
BMI (body mass index) is a BMI lie
The research has been conducted and it's been scientifically proven that body mass index is no indication of a person's overall health and level of fitness. BMI bias is not based on truth and we need to eliminate it from our vocabulary.
